This “Art is a Way of Healing” was one of my projects from 6-7 years ago. Now, I want to use it again in this post. From now on, all of the art and crafts that we create will be featured under this post.
Some are from our own Mindful Art Club, which we started today with its second session, and some are from outside the club that I participate in.
I finally held the brush again after many years, not counting the latest few-hour session at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, April 2023.

This is the first session of our Mindful Art Club. I didn’t paint in the first workshop as I spent time observing people’s happiness.
This is from my few-hour session at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam in April 2023. I was the only Asian participant, having flown a long distance from Vietnam. In the end, I know my painting wasn’t very great, but what the instructor said about it also reflected my personality. She mentioned that she could see a very positive and bright energy in my painting, created by an energetic person, conveying a vibe of happiness.

These pieces are from my original “Art is a Way of Healing” project when I started with watercolor painting.

This is from our new workshop on July 13th, 2024.

To enhance our skills and gather more ideas for the Mindful Art Club, as well as to heal our minds, we registered for four additional workshops featuring different materials.
The first workshop involves a blend of sand and acrylic. While I’m not sure if there’s an official name for this technique, it is incredibly enjoyable. From the class, I realized that my love for mountainous areas always shines through in my art. I have always been drawn to green landscapes and forest vibes.
My little sister, who joined the class with me, shared that we have very different artistic preferences. She enjoys sunsets and warm color tones, while I am inclined towards cooler tones. Her suggestion to add a bit of warmth, like yellow flowers on the grass, really improved my painting. It’s always good to have her by my side to remind me of these small but significant details, both in art and in life.
Despite our differences, we share a love for art and enjoy supporting others in connecting with art through our Mindful Art Club 😊
