Topic #2: 10 Things I Feel Grateful For
This is connected to my first day of writing, as I try to practice gratitude for the things I have in my life.
- My Parents: They have been supporting me during this challenging time in my life, both physically and emotionally. I know that if I ever collapse, they will always have my back.
- My Son: He is the best thing in my life—so loving, with a high emotional intelligence (EQ), and he loves me deeply. I miss him every single day.
- My Work: I am fortunate to work for one of the best companies, with a great culture and strong values. While not everyone embodies these values, they exist, and I feel that I fit in well.
- My Country: I was born during a peaceful time in Vietnam, without war or the need to hide in tunnels. While I dream of living in a developed country, I am grateful that Vietnam is safer than many other places, where people struggle to survive and find food.
- Travel Opportunities: I may not be wealthy enough to travel the world on my own, but I’m grateful that my work has allowed me to visit different places at minimal cost. These experiences have given me opportunities to explore diverse cultures.
- My Reading Habit: I am thankful that my father instilled in me a passion for reading. I cannot imagine my life without books—they have saved me in many difficult moments.
- My Smile: I’m grateful for my bright smile, which people often compliment for bringing positive and energetic vibes. Although I am not an extrovert or someone who starts conversations easily, my smile reveals that I am approachable and friendly, making it easier for others to connect with me.
- My Friends: While most of my close friends live far away and I don’t have many, I’m grateful for the ones I do have. I can confide in them—even sharing my darkest secrets—and trust that they will never betray or judge me.
- Financial Independence: Living a life of financial struggle is incredibly difficult, and while I am not rich, I am grateful to afford necessities for my son, my loved ones, and myself. As long as I have a job, I can remain financially independent. I can take a taxi when I’m too tired to ride my bike and afford basic comforts—nothing extravagant, but enough to live without constant worry.
- Positive Energy Around Me: I feel lucky to attract positive and supportive energy from those around me. People often offer their kindness and help, even strangers I meet randomly. Whether at home or while traveling, I encounter helpful, supportive people who treat me with a warmth as if they’ve known me for a long time.
Thank you for your readings.
